Anglia Phoenix Challenge -Mallory Park
September 29- 1996

As the year moves on the weather takes a turn for the worse, still only late September though, it was more like early November at Mallory Park. It was cold and it wsas damp and it was a hardy spectator that to be entertained, and as always entertained they were. The damp made the circuit slippery and difficult and the cicuit never really dried out.
It was an impressive performance by the John -Paul Ivey who rose up the field rapidly and fought his way to the front ahead of Paul Stopes. Behind Stopes was the MGF, but Don Kettleborough at the wheel of the 'Pocket Rocket' was forced to retire, leaving yet another Midget, driven by David Ecob to finish on the rostrum.
