This race had a dramatic start !
The race had to be red flagged after Stuart Musk rolled his car at Copse. In the restart Paul Hurst in a Midget made an audacious move around the outside of Colin Jones driving an MGA. John Stopes demoted Jones on the next lap as they went through Brooklands, but the charge proved to much for the little Midget and Jones came past Stopes, as his car failed. Don Kettleborough failed to please the many MGF owners and could only manage fourth place, in the Gaydon Team Spirit MGF

If you were watching the Phoenix Challenge race and have wondered how Stuart Musk ( the Midget driver who ended up on his roof at copse ) fared, he is perfectly OK. Apparently once he released his belts he hung rag-doll like from them and couldn't extricate himself !
He was more embarrased than hurt. He intends to be out for the next race which wil be Snetterton on the 23rd.

The Fastest lap was set by John Stopes 1m 14.26sec at 79.60mph
