Anglia Phoenix Challenge - Snetterton 23rd June
(8th Round)

Snetterton was blessed with fine weather for yet another round of the Phoenix Challenge. As always the MGCC provided a full race program for the MG Enthusiast. If you have not yet been to watch the MG's on the circuit, then make a date soon, check out the Race dates and venues for the 'Anglia Phoenix Challenge' and the 'BARC / MGOC Championship'

The Midgets, once more stamped their dominance over the rest of the field, The first to make their mark on the Norfolk tarmac were the Midgets of Jon-Paul Ivey and John Stopes. They were both well matched which made for an exciting start to the 10 Lap race.

They both pulled away from the rest of the field but the Midget of Ivey was to fail and John Stopes went on for an easy win ! Second place was not so clear cut as the trio of Southern ( Metro ), Jones ( MGA ) and Hurst ( Midget ) battled as if their lives depended on it. But after being cut up by both the MGA and Midget, it was Andy Sothern who grabbed second place.

The MGF again failed to come up trumps, Gaydon Team Spirit are to uprate the brakes in a bid to improve matters. It would appear that car is suffering from brake fade towards the latter part of a race.
