The Mighty Midget beat them all, MGF, MGB's, Turbo charged MG Metro's, in the unique MG Car Club Anglia Phoenix Challenge. Unique because it provides the oppotunity for different models of MG to start from the same grid. The series has competition regulations for each of the individual models which is structured in such as a way as to maintain the inter-class competitiveness.
So how do you work out who the winners are?
The overall champion is the driver who, at the end of the season, has the highest Class score. There are 5 classes.
The 96 Champion was the top scorer in Class C: for Roadgoing Cars, and that was one John Spencer, who steered his Midget to success ahead of some stiff competition!
In second place was David Brooke, from Class:B, his drive being an MGB V8. And finally in third place, Don Kettleborough of the Gaydon Team Spirit, in the MGF who drove in Class:A
