BARC/MGOC Championship

(6th round)

Cadwell Park
Lincolnshire

This, the sixth round of the BARC/MGOC returned to Cadwell Park, Lincolnshire. Once more an action packed race program to keep the enthusiasts happy!, looking through the race program I see someone was racing a 'Skoda-Cosworth' (and it won!!!)

Back to the MG's:
Class A
What should have been a ten lap race was reduced to just seven! Three tailenders tangled and as a result the race was brought to a premature end. This was a pity, because at the front there was battle, which had the race gone the full distance, may have had a different result? As it was Mick Mercer (Midget 1.3) was unable to get past Terry Farman, and as the race was stopped, had to be content with a second place, while Farman was awarded another victory!.

Results, (7 laps)
1 Terry Farman.....Midget (1.3)
2 Mick Mercer......Midget (1.3)
3 Sean Valentine...BGT (1.8)
4 Philip Gladman.. Roadster (1.9)

Fastest Lap...Valentine 1m 57.01 @ 66.76mph

Class A
Colin Simpson improved his front running position in the championship, by taking the victory. In the early laps Simpson was pressured by Dave Mellor, but Simpson made his Maestro very wide and was to finish some 13 seconds ahead of Mellor, for a covincing win.
Results, (10 laps)
1 Colin Simpson ...MG Maestro (1.6)
2 Dave Mellor......MG Maestro (2.0)
3 Andy Campbell....MG Maestro (1.6)
4 Paul Naish.......MG Maestro (2.0)

Fastest Lap..Nick Golhar..MG Maestro (1.6) 1m 56.19 @ 67.23
