BARC/MGOC Mallory Park
(3rd round)
Mallory Park likes itself to be known as the "Friendly Circuit" and on the occasions that I have been there it certainly has lived up to that reputation. When your in the paddock amongst the competitors of the BARC/MGOC championship, there is an obvious sense of friendship, but when they get out on the startline it's a different story, no room for friendship on the race circuit, just a will to win. And when it's all over and the chequered flag has been waved it's all friends again, this is all in the true spirit of the marque, MG.
BARC/MGOC Class A (10 laps)
It was Matthew Reads turn to take a win, but Nigel Woolcott driving a MGB, was always in the mirrors of Reads Midget. Behind them fighting hard as always were the B's of Baynham and Butler. Butler playing follow -my -leader throughout the race until the last lap when butler slipped into third spot. All the other action was also left until the last lap with Alan Yeomans B taking fifth spot from Michael Mercer and George Tarrant in a breathtaking manoeuvre as they approached the Devils Elbow three abreast.

BARC/MGOC Class B (10 laps)
As ever there was plenty of action when the Maestro's came out to play. Adrian Olsson made a storming start, to go into the first corner leading the race. Two laps into the action and Mick Weidner was past Fergus Campbell and set about challenging "Olly" for the lead. Weidner made little impression, though Olsson had his measure on this occasion. Fergus Campbell now in third spot spent the remaining eight laps in a three way "dog fight" with David Mellor and Colin Simpson. Campbell started the last lap behind Mellor, but was side by side with Simpson at Gerrards, It was Campbell though with the inside line, which he used to his advantage, to secure fourth place.
