MGB V8, like new.
Looks like a brand new 1973 MGB Roadster(actually a '79 with chrome bumpers and lowered 2") with 15" Panasport wheels, aside from the chromed windshield frame which now looks correct and matches the chrome side vent windows. Underneath the hood – 1999 Chevy LS1 5.7liter V8 with matching 6 speed transmission. Car can be driven around town enjoyably and is not hard to drive slow.. put your foot down to the floor, NOTHING will touch it on the street. VERY FAST, this car is NOT for your 16 year old son or daughter and should be driven responsibly. Sounds AMAZING.(Imagine a Formula Firebird but won't upset the neighbors if driven normally). Nothing spared, nothing over looked. Car was dipped, blasted, (car had no rust to begin with before restoration), rust protectant primer, black epoxy paint underneath entire car. Car is spotless from top to bottom. Show stopper. Pure white(base coat/clear coat with each coat wet sanded in between). New biscuit interior with matching tan canvas top / zip-out rear window, Carpinthian Elm Burl wood dash custom made with matching shifter area, NOT a kit from Moss, totally hand crafted(one of a kind, yet looks like a stock item, as does everything else on the car... except the engine). EVERYTHING is brand new on this car, ALL bushings-poly urethane, coil over-adjustable front suspension(all new - king pins, ball joints, etc.), lowered competition rear springs with spax conversion shocks on rear, torsion bars(to keep power down to the ground and off the springs), car is lowered 2" yet ride quality is VERY comfortable and handles excellent(is NOT nose heavy at all due to the all alloy Chevy engine and hours and hours of perfect placement of motor, still utilizes original heater box yet engine sits back farther than Rover V8 would, not to mention the LS1 is MUCH more reliable than the Rover engine.. 1970 MGB -- Family Owned, 76k Miles, original
This is a feeler to see if there is interest in my 1970 MGB roadster. It was purchase by my father new in 1970 and has always been garaged. Paint has a few spots, and there is rust in the trunk, but no structural rust that I'm aware of. Car runs and is drivable with minor tune up (all fluids, needs tires or tubes). Has the original wire wheels, all records for it, non-leaking good condition soft top, great interior. Can get some pictures if there is a serious interest. All electrical was working as of the last time I drove it (maybe 2 years ago), including the radio, but can't guarantee that now.
Has a broken signal lever (meaning to have the right signal on you need to hold it up, it won't click into place anymore). Also runs a bit rich as I have never known how to tune the SU carbs. Should be easy fixes / non-issues for someone serious in a well-kept car.

1974 MGB Roadster - Restoration Project
The vehicle has 106,000 miles and is a hardtop convertible with chrome bumpers. The engine is a straight four cylinder 1.8 L with dual carburetors. It's a manual 4 speed with no overdrive. The dashboard is all original parts. It has two doors and two seats with room for bags or a third person in the back. The car is pearl grey but was originally classic MG green. The car was repainted about ten years ago and still looks good. The car does not start. I haven't had the money to get it checked out so I don't know why it doesn't start. It stopped starting over a period of four years it has been sitting in my grandmother's carport. I am interested in selling to someone who will either fully restore it or who wants to invest in getting it operational for a relatively cheap and stylish vintage convertible. I paid 3500 CAD for this vehicle in 2005 and I am asking for 2500 as it is no longer running. Immediately after I bought the vehicle it was tuned up with new tires, oil pump, air filters, oil change and transmission oil changed. I have driven only 1000 miles since I got it and 700 of them were all in one go getting it to Vancouver. It did not have any mechanical problems at the time and was easily speeding at eighty miles an hour. NOS Vandervell Engine Bearings
I have some NOS Vandervell engine bearings. There are no better bearings for your engine rebuild. These are trimetal lead-bronze bearings. They are stronger than the lead-copper commonly available. I have 2 sets each of VP91166 main bearings in Std size and VP400 rod bearings (these are for 3-main engines only, MGA and early MGB) in .010 undersize. $120 each set. MGB Windstop
I have a windstop for sale that came with my RV8. It had not been used on the RV8 as I found that the locating tongues were too short to reach the tonneau rail brackets, due to the volume taken by the packed hood. It would however suit an MGB, for which it was designed.
The windstop is of the Perspex type that sits on a two part rail. It is in very good condition, well made and quite elegant to look at.
I plan to purchase an MGF 'Sunmate' cover. As this will cost me £55 I have priced the windstop at £55, which I think is quite cheap compared to the £170 that most windstops cost new.

Known service history since 1998 when I owned the car and performed a complete mechanical restoration. I sold the car back in 2000 and repurchased it in 2008. This car has been rarely used since its mechanical rebuild and has always been garaged. Estimated mileage since rebuild is less than 4000 miles.
Work done on original rebuild in 1998 with documentation.
Engine-Completely rebuilt. Line bored 40 over. New pistons and bearings, new stock cam and lifters. Engine balanced and block and head decked. Head was rebuilt using new intake and exhaust valves and guides.
Driveline-New clutch, plate, throwout bearing and master cylinder. New universal joints and resealed rear end.
Fuel and Exhaust system-Rebuilt carbs, new fuel pump and gas tank. Falcon SS exhaust system.
Electrical system-Rebuilt alternator, new Japanese lightweight reduction starter. New wiring from starter to electrical cutoff switch installed behind passenger front seat.
Cooling system-Recored radiator and new water pump.
Brakes-All new hydralics, replaced all brake lines and rebuilt front calipers. New rotors pads and front wheel bearings.
Front suspension-New front swivel sets from Victoria British. New front and rear shocks New rear springs MGB V8 A arm bushings.
Recent work done in 2008
Replaced speedometer angle drive on transmission. Replaced front and rear hatch door locks. Replaced window felt and both heater control cables and wiper assemblies. Replaced upper and lower radiator hoses. Replaced oil cooler lines. Replaced master cylinder and rear brake wheel cylinders and installed braided flex brake lines.
The body has had following known work performed. Replacement of both floors and passenger side castle rail. Both left and right inner and outer rocker assemblies. Front fenders and rear quarter panels. Car has an original aluminum bonnet.
Interior seating is very nice and all original. The dash is excellent and original (not recovered). Headliner is near perfect for original.
Would cost more than what I am asking to do what already has been done. This car is solid all the way around. It’s the perfect definition of what an MG driver should be.
I would love to keep the car, but am up to eye balls in car projects and need to free up some space.

Set of MGB / GT 14" x 4.5J Wire wheels with 185 Bridgestone tyres - balanced!
Ladies and gentlemen,
I have for sale one (1) complete balanced set of MG B / BGT wire wheels and tyres with the following specification:
* Four (4) Dunlop 14" x 4.5J silver-painted wire wheels, bought new about five years ago.
* Four (4) Bridgestone B391 185/70R14 tyres with plenty of life left, fitted about two years ago.
* Four (4) New inner tubes fitted together with tyres.
* One (1) slightly manky spare wheel with legal 165/80R14 tyre (not pictured).
These wheels are in good shape - there are no loose spokes, the splines and drive cones are healthy, and they have never been crashed or kerbed. The tyres have plenty of tread - two with 5.5mm and two with 4.5mm.
The 185/70 is the best choice for fitting a modern tyre to the standard MGB rim, and these Bridgestones offer plenty of grip in both wet and dry conditions.
The spare is an older wheel with only about 2mm of tread on a 165/80R14 Dunlop tyre, the best of the set that I removed when I bought the four above. It has some rust and may be slightly out-of-true but it would do fine to get you home in an emergency when used with appropriately limited speed.

MGB / GT rebuilt wire wheel axle, pair front hubs, all parts for WW conversion!
Ladies and gentlemen,
I have for sale one (1) complete MG B / BGT wire wheel conversion kit comprising the following parts:
* Recently rebuilt genuine wire wheel rear axle
* Leaf springs
* Rear dampers
* Nearly-new hand-brake cable
* Pair of front hubs
* Four brass spinners, complete with patina!
This is everything you need to turn your steel-wheel MGB into a wire wheel one, and nothing else will do the job properly - please be aware that real wire-wheel axles are a different width so even with "conversion" hubs your rear wheels will still be in the wrong place!

So, some details and pictures (click on pictures for a larger version) on each piece:
Rear axle
I rebuilt this axle myself less than 2000 miles / 12 months ago using only the best quality parts. All the bearings (both pinion bearings, the central differential bearings, and the outer wheel bearings) were replaced with Timken bearings. A new collapseable spacer was fitted to the pinion shaft and the pre-load was set correctly so these bearings will now no doubt be good for another 100K+ miles.
The gears (3.91:1 ratio - standard 4-cyl B) are in excellent condition - as you can see from the pictures the contact patches on the gears are nicely within the boundaries of each tooth, thus showing that wear is negligible. The diff thrust washers are in very good condition, as is the differential pin. There are no whines or clonks when driving.
A nice feature of this particular axle is that it will fit either chrome or rubber bumpered cars - it was originally a rubber bumper part, but the chrome-bumper-style brake hose bracket has been added. The brake lines and hose fitted currently are for a chrome-bumper setup. The rubber bumper anti-roll bar pads are there in case you wish to use them for handling upgrades.
The studs for the rebound straps are in good shape - these have often been sheared off by careless mechanics! The bump-stop pads are also fine, having had new parts a few years ago that were painted before fitting.
The rear hubs are quite recent and are top-quality parts made by Orson right here in the midlands. Watch out for hubs with worn-out drive cones as they just won't work properly!
The axle comes fitted with a pair of chrome-bumper GT leaf springs, and a set of lever-arm dampers so it's completely ready to bolt onto your car. If however you don't want either of these parts (e.g. wrong spec for car or you have telescopic dampers) or need it all in bits in order to fit in your car, I will happily remove them for you. No discount will be given if you don't want them though!
I have removed the diff cover in order to show the condition of the internals. I will either supply a new diff gasket with the axle, or reassemble and seal the axle depending on your preference. You will need to fill it with oil once fitted to your car!

Rear brakes
These brakes are in excellent order and passed an MOT in the summer with flying colours - even the hand brake! The hand brake levers are the larger later type, and the backplates are MGB roadster / early GT so use the slightly smaller bore brake cylinder. You can use these on a late-model GT with no problems, but if you are stickler for originality I am happy to supply a pair of late-GT style backplates - you're on your own changing them however! The brake adjusters are free and everything has had a recent greasing. When fitted to your car they may require adjusting as I slackened them slightly to remove the drums for the photos.
The supplied hand-brake cable (again, a different length than on steel-wheel cars) was brand new about a year ago and is in excellent condition having been greased when new and at the last MOT.

Front hubs
These hubs have done many years' service now, but have never given me any trouble - wheels could be fitted in any position with respect to the hubs without affecting wheel balance. They are supplied with nearly-new (less than 3000 miles) bearings but you will need to shim these to suit your stub axles. Brake disks are included to get you going, they're quite rusty though!

Spinners
These are real 1960s O.E. parts, and as such they're not concours by any stretch. They are in perfect working order and bear the marks of many years' thrashing with the copper hammer, giving them that perfect lived-in feeling.
