What a difference a couple of weeks can
make as a chill is really in the air now. I have actually started
to think about putting the cars away for the season, what a sad
thought. Our Halloween Hat Party Meeting was a great success thanks
to Shari and Sandy for putting this together again. Our next
meeting is in Windsor at the DH on November 12, 2008, where you will
be able to enjoy a nice price break on your food order! You can read
about it in an open letter from the DH management that appears
elsewhere in the newsletter. Hopefully we will see you there.
There were several events during October, see elsewhere in this
issue for reports on them. Our upcoming Annual Meeting and
Elections will be held in February on the USA side of river this
year. We have had several people step forward to say they will run
for office and we actually have a real election for one of the
offices so far. It is really important to step forward, your club
always needs new blood to work on committees and to run for offices
or be on one of the board appointed positions. Please take a look
at the next Can-Am Connection and see what positions we have. Put
your name in for one of them it is very gratifying really!
Our Holiday Gift Exchange will be at the December meeting at the
Brass Pointe, but we have decided to try something a touch different
this time and that is to have a Second Holiday Gift or Re-Gift
Exchange in January in Windsor. So now you have a great opportunity
to give and get twice. Or if you don't like what you got in
December give it back in January ;) Have twice the fun with two
gift exchange meetings!
One other event that may be of interest to some of you is a visit to
the GM Heritage Center. The Jag Club has put this together and has
invited the other area clubs to join them. The date is set for
Friday, November 21 from 3:00 to 5:00. The center is only open
weekdays from 8 to 5 by special appointment, and it takes 1 1/2 to 2
hours to view all the exhibits. They tried to pick a time that
would least interfere with people's work schedules. The GM Heritage
Center is located at 6400 Center Drive, Sterling Heights, MI.
48312. It is just SE of Mound Road and 16-Mile Road. They would
like an estimate of how many are interested in going so if you are,
please drop me an email to
jzorn@mgcars.org.uk and let me know by November 17. There is an
admission price of $10 per person, which will be paid at the door by
you.
See you at the meeting!

web-editor's note:
The offices of President and Vice President are vacant due to the
incumbents having reached their three-year term limit. The current
Treasurer and Secretary are now completing the first of their
three-year term limit. Election details will be posted
shortly.
